SQL Cockpit Agent

Connect database environments to SQL Cockpit through an Agent designed for outbound communication, operational signals and controlled coordination.

Agent is the controlled bridge between a database environment and the wider platform. It brings environment state, job outcomes and runtime signals into context without replacing SQL Server Agent.

Cloud-side registration, heartbeat, telemetry and command APIs are implemented. The installed Agent repository is pending review.

A controlled connection to each environment

The Agent identifies an environment to the platform and sends operational information over authenticated outbound channels. Cloud-side APIs in this repository cover registration, heartbeat, telemetry and command results.

  • Register and identify an environment
  • Report status and operational signals
  • Avoid a requirement for inbound database exposure

Coordinate, do not conflate

SQL Server Agent remains the scheduler for SQL Server jobs. SQL Cockpit Agent surfaces their outcomes and can coordinate approved work with Engine, while Engine remains responsible for database execution.

  • Keep SQL Server Agent jobs visible
  • Use signed or token-authenticated platform requests
  • Return outcomes for investigation
