SQL Cockpit Engine
The PowerShell-based execution layer behind SQL Cockpit database operations, migration and synchronisation workflows.
Engine is the component responsible for repeatable database work. It is architecturally distinct from the application that configures a task and the Agent that connects an environment.
The Engine repository has not been reviewed here. Specific execution features and independent deployment modes are not yet verified.
Execution has its own boundary
The Engine is the proposed owner of PowerShell-based execution and synchronisation logic. Keeping that responsibility distinct makes long-running operations easier to reason about and evolve.
- Database operations and data movement
- Repeatable execution pipelines
- Status and result information for operators
Configured elsewhere, executed here
A task can be configured in SQL Cockpit or requested through an approved workflow. The Engine performs the database work; the Agent handles connectivity and coordination with the wider platform.
- Separate operator intent from execution
- Return outcomes to the surrounding workflow
- Preserve clear approval and security boundaries
